Baked French Toast

Ingredients

  • Large loaf of French bread
  • 5 large Eggs
  • 1.5 C Whole Milk or Half & Half
  • 1/2 C Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar + 14 C
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill or Oven to 375° F
  2. Cut large loaf of French bread into 1”x1” cubes - enough to make 9-10 Cups
  3. Whisk together:
  4. 5 large Eggs
  5. 1.5 C Whole Milk or Half & Half
  6. 1/2 C Sugar
  7. 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  8. 3 tsp vanilla
  9. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  10. 1/4 tsp salt
  11. Pour over bread or mix together in bowl
  12. Sprinkle another 1/4 C brown sugar on top and place in grill or oven.
  13. Glaze:
  14. 4 Tbsp Butter
  15. 3 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  16. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  17. Melt in pot and add to mixture 20 minutes into baking.
  18. Remove and enjoy immediately.
  19. Bake at 375° F for 35-40 minutes
