Instant Pot Taco Soup

Taco Soup is the ultimate comfort food! It is the perfect, crowd pleasing meal that is cheap, easy to make and delicious!

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 onion- diced
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 4 tsp. olive oil
  • 2 limes
  • 3/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 cans black beans
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can corn- drained
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 bunch cilantro - chopped
  • Taco Seasoning
  • Garnish with sour cream shredded cheese and avocado


  1. Set Instant Pot to saute and drizzle olive oil into the pot.
  2. Once the olive oil is heat, add the ground beef and cook until brown.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and cook until soft.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir.
  5. Put the lid on and set for manual high for seven minutes.
  6. Once it has completed its cooking cycle, quick pressure release all the pressure.
  7. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, and avocado.

Recipe Notes

You can make Taco Soup in several ways. You can combine all the ingredients in a large pot on your stove or combine and put in a crock pot. We like using the Instant Pot because you can cook your ground beef in the same pot and use less dishes.

You can always leave ingredients out of Taco Soup that you don’t want. You can make it vegetarian by leaving out the beef and you can always add or omit different beans or veggies to your liking.

Along those same lines you can also add different meat to the soup if you prefer. You can use cooked shredded chicken, tofu, or pork.
